Sunday, July 13th 5:30 PM, Christian Directed Singles goes to see Ben Hur at the Fox Theatre, Midtown, Atlanta Join Perimeter Singles to attend the Coca Cola Summer Film Festival showing of Ben Hur at the Fox theatre in Midtown Atlanta. Saturday, July 19th (12 Noon), Christian Directed Singles are invited to join the Single Outdoor Adventures Annual Summer Picnic at Red Top Mountain 45 minutes north of Atlanta near Cartersville. SOA will provide hotdogs & hamburgers, buns, all of the trimmings, soft drinks, water, ice, paper products. Bring a side item to share; appetizers, salads, and desserts will be appreciated. SOA Members free, guests are welcome, $5.00 charge for guests. Swimming, lake fishing, visiting and relaxing will be available. Bring a chair if you have one, swim gear, fishing pole and your boat. A short hike may be arranged. There is a $3.00 per car parking fee. Carpool from Christ The King at 11:00. (Riders share the cost of gas and parking with driver.) Saturday July 26th 9:15 AM, Christian Directed Singles goes Tubing on the beautiful Toccoa River, Blue Ridge, GA. We will join Perimeter Singles and SOA members. Meet at Perimeter Church at 9:15 AM or Christ The King parking lot at 9:30 AM to carpool the 2-hour drive to Blue Ridge. Expect to arrive at the Toccoa Valley Campground tube rental about noon and eat our lunch in their picnic area. Bring a sack lunch or go through a drive in window near Blue Ridge on the way up. After lunch it will be a 2 hour leisurely float 6 miles down the scenic River. There are no rapids. Transportation from the end of the trip back to the starting point provided. $10 to rent a tube (with a bottom) and a life jacket (required). Shoes (that you can get wet) and sunscreen are recommended; coolers and alcoholic beverages are prohibited. Saturday, Aug 2nd 2 PM, Christian Directed Singles goes to Atlanta Braves Baseball, Join Perimeter Singles to see the Atlanta Braves take on inter league rival the Milwaukee Brewers at 3:55PM. 2 PM carpool from Christ The King. Plan to arrive at the Ted by 3PM for Rally Flag giveaway to 1st 35,000 fans in attendance. $16 tickets reserved w/Perimeter Singles block. Saturday, Aug 16th 5:30 PM, Christian Directed Singles goes to the Stone Mountain Laser Show Carpool from Christ The King or the Lilburn area at 5:30 PM to arrive early to get a good spot on the lawn for the famous show that starts at night fall. Bring snacks to share and a chair or blanket to sit on. If not carpooling, look for Carol’s unusual balloon. $8 per car park admission charge. Saturday, August 30th 2:00 PM, Christian Directed Singles joins Perimeter Singles for Celebrate Freedom Atlanta, a large, free, full day Christian concert at the Georgia Intl Horse Park in Conyers, GA. Artists to be announced July 7th but the concert is free & presented by Luis Palau. 2 PM carpool from Christ The King. Further details to be provided once artists are announced. Other Christian Directed Singles events include movies, museum visits, hikes, dancing, concerts, theater, & dinning out. Open to single men and women forty plus of all denominations. The Christian
Directed Singles has had a great spring with wonderful participation in
some wonderful events. The large group at the Memorial Day picnic was
fabulous fun. The morning of helping at the Norcross Cooperative
Ministry was very rewarding. The excursion to the horse show in Conyers
was surprisingly interesting. It was an enjoyable Sunday evening meal
and get together at the CDS Social Night at Abbot’s. Great times
with a great group and great friends. i
